Ichika Saotome (早乙女 一千花 Saotome Ichika) is the 1st of the Saotome Sisters and a Valkyrie currently residing on Midgard to defend it from invading demons.

Ichika has long black hair with red highlights, with an ahoge. She keeps her hair tied back in a small ponytail and wears a cross-shaped clip in her hair. She has red eyes, and often has a stern expression, leaving dark circles under her eyes.
In her Valkyrie form, she dons a dark red uniform with golden threads, plus a large coat with sleeves too long for her arms. She has a black tie with red stripes and a full cap with a visor and a golden cross. Her Holy Sword is The Spear, a weapon she often carries around even in her human form.
Personality[]
The oldest of the Saotome Sisters, Ichika moved independently from the rest of her siblings at first, being the sister most opposed to using Takuma to increase their strength. She is cold, strong-willed and brutally honest, and looks down on Takuma for his weakness. Due to her Seidr ability she has very sensitive skin, so she usually wears long-sleeved clothing.
Etymology[]
- The name Ichika means "one" (一) (i), "thousand" (千) (chi) and "flower, blossom" (花) (ka).
- Ichika's surname Saotome means "already, now, fast, early" (早) (sa) and "virgin, maiden, girl" (乙女) (otome).
